St. Patrick's Day!!

Okay so i have not been keeping up with blogging about our preschool, i promise we have been meeting, i just have been super busy with trying to teach this playgroup for 3-5 year olds that i have not had a lot of extra time. however, i really wanted to blog about what we did for st. patty's day because i thought landen did an excellent job, and i think it was lots of fun!! So we decided to not do a letter for st. patrick's day we just decided we would have a party. so we did calendar and then we did our craft which we decided would be a trap to try to catch the leperchauns, which the kids were really excited about! that pretty much took up the whole time and then we had a snack which was green pudding and a leperchaun cookie (one of those keebler elf fudge center cookies, do you know what i am talking about?) Afterwards we went the library for storytime and music.
Landen was so excited about trying to catch a leperchaun so after he went to bed i took the gold coins off of the top and left some rolos and sprinkled some green sprinkles around the trap, then left a note that said you can't catch me! landen thought it was pretty funny and said that the leprechaun we way tricky!! in the picture you can't see the sign but it reads: don't climb the ladder!

V is for VOLCANO!!!!!

Today was a fun day because we did v is for volcano and with two three year old boys things that explode are way cool!!! so we started with calendar and then they did their worksheets with the letter v, and they did a great job. V must be an easy letter to write. and then they did their name worksheets, then the fun began!! so we decided that we were going to make our own playdough, at it was a pretty easy recipe so if anyone needs to make playdough here is a good one: Uncooked Playdough Materials Bowl 1 cup cold water 1 cup salt 2 teaspoons vegetable oil Tempera paint or food coloring 3 cups flour 2 tablespoons cornstarch Directions In bowl, mix water, salt, oil, and enough tempera paint or food coloring to make a bright color. Gradually add flour and cornstarch until the mixture reaches the consistency of bread dough. Store covered. Then we put the playdough around a toilet paper roll and filled the middle with baking soda, pour in the vinegar and watch!

We have now moved on to the letter f, and we did f is for fish and frog. So our craft was a frog puppet and we played a go fishing game that landen got for christmas, that one where you have a fishing pole and the fish go around opening and closing their mouths and you have to try to catch them, does anyone remember that game? i had one when i was little. we also had fun playing leap frog and singing little frog songs!!
